How to choose turbine flowmeter

How to choose turbine flowmeter

  • January 2,2020.

Gas turbine flowmeter is a kind of speed type instrument, it has high precision, good repeatability, no zero drift, high range ratio, simple structure, less moving parts, high pressure resistance, wide measuring range, small volume, light weight, small pressure loss, convenient maintenance, turbine flowmeter with high quality bearing, specially designed a deflector, thus greatly reduce the wear and tear, is not sensitive to the peak, even under harsh conditions can be reliable measurement variables is given. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, food, biochemistry, urban gas pipe network and other industries.

The following five aspects should be considered when selecting the turbine flowmeter suitable for you:

1. According to the requirements of measurement purposes: instantaneous flow or cumulative flow (cumulative flow), unit of flow display, measurement accuracy, repeatability, linearity, flow range and range, measurement temperature, pressure loss, temperature and pressure compensation, output signal characteristics and response time, etc.Different measuring objects have their own measuring purposes, and they have different emphases on instrument performance.

2, measuring medium property requirements: chemical corrosion and scaling, the chemical nature of the fluid sometimes become the decisive factor in the choice of measurement methods and instruments. Some fluids may cause corrosion of parts in contact with the instrument, surface scaling or precipitation of crystalline metal surface to produce electrolytic chemical action.

3. Requirements for phase composition of the measuring medium: care should be taken when the measuring medium is a single phase change medium or when measuring polyphase and multi-component flows. The turbine flowmeter measures single clean medium, and the electromagnetic flowmeter can measure solid-liquid two-phase mixed medium.

4. Requirements of the compression system and other parameters: the compressibility value of the measured gas shall be known to obtain the fluid density in the working state. The density of a fluid with a fixed composition is calculated by pressure, temperature and compressibility. For compositional fluid and fluid operating near (or in) the supercritical zone, on-line measurement of density should be considered.

5. Measurement accuracy requirements: it is necessary to clarify the overall measurement accuracy requirements and whether it is used at a specific flow rate or whether there are significant changes in the range due to changes in temperature and pressure. The values are generally low and the differences between various gases are small.
