How to extend the service life of differential pressure transmitter effectively

Differential pressure transmitter is a transmitter that measures the pressure difference between the two ends of the transmitter. It outputs standard signals for measuring liquid level, density and pressure of liquid, gas and steam.Correct use of differential pressure transmitter and regular maintenance can effectively extend the service life of the instrument.

1. Choose the right location:

When the differential pressure transmitter is installed too close to the upstream of the production line, unmelted material will wear down to the top of the sensor.If the sensor is installed too far back, a stagnation zone of molten material is created between the sensor and the screw stroke, where the molten material is likely to degrade and the pressure signal may be distorted.In general, the sensor can be located in front of the filter barrel, melt pump before and after or in the mold.

2. Check the size of mounting hole:

If the installation hole size is not appropriate, differential pressure transmitter in the installation process, the threaded part is more vulnerable to certain wear.This will not only directly affect the sealing of the equipment, but also make the pressure sensor can not fully play its role, and may even cause potential safety hazards.Only the proper mounting holes can avoid the wear of the threads. Usually, we can use the mounting hole measuring instrument to carry out a fine inspection on the mounting holes to make proper adjustment.

3. Avoid low temperature interference:

In the extrusion process, if the operating temperature of the extruder is not reached before the production starts, the sensor and the extruder will be damaged to a certain extent.In addition, if the sensor is removed from the cold extruder, the material may adhere to the top of the sensor and cause damage to the vibrating film.Therefore, before removing the differential pressure transmitter, make sure that the temperature of the barrel is high enough and the material inside the barrel is in the softening state.

4. Keep dry:

Although the differential pressure transmitter circuit is designed to withstand harsh extrusion processing conditions, most sensors are not waterproof, and it is not conducive to normal operation in humid conditions.Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the water in the water cooling device of the extruder barrel will not leak, otherwise it will cause adverse effects on the sensor.If the sensor has to be exposed to water or humidity, select a special sensor that is highly water-resistant.

5. Keep the mounting hole clean:

It is very important to keep the mounting hole clean to prevent the molten material from blocking.Before the extruder is cleaned, all pressure sensors should be removed from the barrel to avoid damage.When the sensor is removed, the melt may flow into the mounting hole and harden. If such residual melt is not removed, the top portion of the sensor may be damaged when the sensor is reinstalled.A cleaning kit can remove these molten residues.However, repeated cleaning procedures can aggravate damage to the sensor caused by mounting holes.If this happens, measures should be taken to raise the sensor in the mounting hole.

6. Careful and comprehensive cleaning:

All differential pressure transmitters should be removed before the barrel of the extruder is cleaned using a wire brush or special compound.Because both of these cleaning methods may cause damage to the vibration membrane of the sensor.When the cylinder is heated, the sensor should also be removed and the top wiped with a soft cloth that will not cause wear. The holes in the sensor should also be cleaned with a clean driller and guide sleeve
