The "two-phase flow" in the saturated steam flowmeter is generally referred to as superheated saturated steam. Its water content can be ignored and the value when its dryness X=1 is adopted, that is, the value of dry steam.There are two negative superposition errors of density and velocity under the influence of dryness.


The mass flow rate is related to the density of the steam, which is directly affected by the pressure and temperature of the steam.The steam flowmeter generally tracks the steam pressure and temperature changes through pressure and temperature sensors to achieve the purpose of density compensation.

The density of superheated steam is a function of its pressure and temperature, not a direct proportion.High pressure, and requires good stability, reliability, sealing.

On-line density compensation has become a steam meter, breaking the inherent temperature and pressure of saturated steam in the strict one-to-one relationship, steam meter is an essential basic function and is widely used.The density value can be calculated accurately according to the superheated steam density table or density calculation formula.

In actual use, temperature and pressure sensors are turned on simultaneously to measure steam temperature and pressure in real time. The density of saturated steam can be a single function of its temperature or pressure.The real-time density value can be obtained by the table lookup method or formula calculation method (IFC1967 or IAPW-1997).

In the flow measurement, the steam flowmeter can choose temperature compensation or pressure compensation flowmeter.The integrated temperature and pressure compensation can be realized. There is a strict one-to-one correspondence between the temperature and pressure of saturated steam.The measured steam temperature is detected in real time to obtain the corresponding density value.

When there is a fault in the flowmeter, it should be correctly distinguished whether there is a fault in the display instrument or other secondary instruments. Besides, the steam flowmeter has no moving mechanical parts, so it has high reliability, small maintenance amount and stable parameters for a long time.
