Why does the turbine flow meter have flow rate and not show cause analysis

In the flow meter, the liquid turbine flow meter has the advantages of simple structure, light weight, convenient maintenance, few processing parts and large circulation capacity. It has been widely used in petrochemical, organic liquid, inorganic liquid, cryogenic liquid, high-temperature liquid and other industries.However, problems such as the nature of the measured medium, caliber selection, installation conditions, maintenance and calibration are unavoidable in practical application. In order to ensure the normal operation of the turbine flowmeter, the following problems should be paid attention to during its use

1. Turbine flow meter has strict requirements on the measured medium

Turbine flowmeter is general requirement for measuring low viscosity fluid flow in one direction only, at present most of the turbine flowmeter bearings for ball bearings, thus have a high request for the purity of the measured medium, such as medium contains particles impurities, can make the bearing wear quickly, if the fiber impurities will be wrapped around the turbine blades, affect the normal rotation of the turbine, in practice can be equipped with effective filter in front of the turbine flowmeter


2. The selection of turbine flowmeter diameter should be paid attention to

When choosing the calibre of the turbine flowmeter, should make the operation condition of the medium flow before the flowmeter measurement range of 15% 70%, when measured medium flow in the selected meter measuring range below 15%, medium fluid flow velocity is slow in a laminar flow state in pipeline, measurement of linear variation of the flow meter, it is difficult to meet the requirements of measurement accuracy.When the flow rate of medium working condition is greater than 70% of the measurement range of the selected flow meter, the turbine speed will become very large, and the wear of acceleration bearing and support will affect the service life of the turbine flow meter.


3. Problems needing attention during installation of turbine flowmeter

The uneven flow velocity distribution and vortex flow are the main reasons affecting the measurement accuracy of turbine flowmeter. To eliminate the uneven flow velocity and vortex flow, it is necessary to have a long enough straight pipe section in front of the turbine flowmeter.

The installation mode of turbine flowmeter can be horizontal, inclined and vertical. The flow characteristic curve varies with the installation mode.Horizontal installation is required for high accuracy measurements.If vertical installation must be adopted, the turbine flowmeter shall be recaliferated by vertical installation and the instrument coefficient shall be reset.


4. Maintenance and calibration should pay attention to the problem

Failure of turbine flowmeter is mostly stuck turbine bearing wear and impeller, this kind of fault users only need to replace the bearing or clear the debris on the impeller can be solved, but the turbine flowmeter is strict precision instrument assembly, reassembled after replacement and can cause the change of instrument coefficient, thus to ensure the accuracy of measurement should be after repackaging replacement and to check and change the meter coefficient. Used fluid must pay attention to check and measure the medium for the same or similar viscosity medium.
