Causes and solutions of errors in electromagnetic flowmeter measurement of wastewater

1. The electromagnetic flowmeter USES the principle of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to measure, but the flow signal generated during its operation is very weak, so the ground of key parts must be kept unobstructed, such as the sensor shell and catheter, etc..These are to reduce the impact on the electromagnetic field generated by the electromagnetic flowmeter during operation, which is the primary factor to ensure accurate measurement.

Solutions: 1. If the sensor cannot be grounded, and the common grounding wire is connected to the motor or other electrical products to save trouble, a separate grounding wire should be set up.2. The installation location must be away from vibration or electromagnetic fields.


2. The process connection pipe has stray current, which will also affect the measurement data of electromagnetic flowmeter.

Solution: Add a ground wire to the process pipe at the front and rear ends, and the distance from the flowmeter should be about 1.6 meters.


3. The medium liquid under test contains bubbles or fails to reach the full tube state. In fact, this kind of performance is very common, and improper installation or aging of the product can easily lead to this situation.

Solution: 1. Replace the installation position of the electromagnetic flowmeter.2. Replace the sealing gasket of the leakage part.3. Install the gas collector in the upstream process pipe position and exhaust regularly.4. The installation location shall be selected on the vertical process pipeline from bottom to top.5. If there is no vertical segment, the bottom segment can be selected for installation.6. Select new intelligent electromagnetic flowmeter products to measure non-full pipe.


4. The measured medium liquid is prone to crystallization, precipitation or scaling.Crystallization is usually caused by the failure of the measuring tube to heat and retain heat.

Solution: 1. Shorten the measuring tube as much as possible to reduce the temperature loss.2. Replace the small-bore electromagnetic flowmeter to improve the flow rate, and clean the measuring pipe by yourself.3, the lining of the choice of glass or polytetrachloride is not easy to attach.4. Carry out regular cleaning and maintenance to remove scaling.
