Matters needing attention when measuring compressed air with vortex flowmeter

1. Vibration influence

Compressed air air compressor or high pressure fan produced.When these devices are running, they all have varying degrees of vibration, and sometimes the vibration is quite strong, and this vibration will be transmitted through the connecting pipe.In the selection and location determination of vortex flowmeter, this factor should be fully considered. In various detection methods, due to different detection components, the anti-vibration performance of the instrument is also different.For the vortex street of the detection element, the vibration resistance can reach 0.5~1G.When the installation location of vortex flowmeter is determined, it should be as far away from the power equipment such as air compressor and fan as possible.

2.* Small flow problem

The amplitude of the vortex street signal is directly proportional to the square velocity and density of the measured medium.In other words, when the detection sensitivity of vortex flowmeter is certain, the working pressure and density of the fluid increase, and the measured flow velocity can be reduced. Conversely, at a certain flow velocity, if the working pressure and density of the fluid increase, the amplitude of vortex street signal will also increase, and the detection sensitivity can be reduced.For atmospheric gas, the lower limit of vortex flowmeter can reach 4~5m/s.For pressurized gases, such as compressed air, the lower velocity decreases as the density increases.So in the selection, to consider the actual condition of the flow.

3. Impact of pulsating flow

As a result of the fan and compressor output of the gas, most contain a certain component of the pulsation.The pulsation frequency and amplitude of the gas output by roots fan are related to the rotating speed and constant displacement volume of the waist wheel, and the pulsation frequency is usually 100~200HZ.And reciprocating compressor output gas frequency is lower, generally only a few Hertz.In addition, some air equipment, such as air hammer, pneumatic tools, etc., will also cause the pulsation of the air flow, and the frequency and amplitude of the pulsation are random.
